China Memories... and May 26, 2009

A few years ago, I had the chance of a lifetime to go to China! We went March of 2006 and stayed there in Shanghai with our family. It was a lot of fuN! The plane ride was 13 hours long, from San Francisco to Shanghai airport. It was the longest flight ever! Two full school days long... I think i watched five movies and slept a few hours :) When we got there, our dearest cousins met us at the airport... it was kind of late... jet lag is the weirdest feeling!! You feel like you want to sleep when its light outside, and when its sleep time, you arent even tired!! That was kind of a pain, till you got used to it... While we were there, we were shown around the city, driven by their driver, Roger.. yes I still remember his name. :) We saw the great wall, the Pearl Tower, Tienamen Square, and a whole bunch more. At some places it was a little bit strange, because some random person would come up to you and ask if they could take a picture with you. SOme will even feel your skin, because it is so white, and feel your hair, because it is so blond! My cousins had a huge house, with a swimming pool and all :) We had church in their living room, which was quite fun! I remember sitting on the couch in our dresses and slippers sneaking starbursts and annoying the dude that sat next to us :) hehehe.... so anyways... i love those memories and I hope that they never fade!! Please enjoy my lovely pictures!!.... (they were from like 3 years ago ;D)
In the airport before our big trip to China!
The end of the Great Wall!!

A silk factory!! We got to see silk worms and see how they made the silK!! We got super comfy silk comforters too! We got to stretch a big bunch of silk out, so they could make blankets out of it! It was really cool!

Riding an elephant with my cousin Kelsi! :)

Riding the elephant again!! With Kelsi and Haley :) That was way fun too! It was a little bit scary at times though, because he is so big that eveytime he took a step it felt like you were going to fall off! You had to straddle like a mile just to get your legs across him! Just kidding :) I was not adventurous enough to ride on the trunk, though :)

This was kind of awkward because this guy was carrying this pole thing we are holding and randomly asked if we wanted to take a picture with it... SO we did!! :)

This is the Spyder store!! They sell the spyder coats way cheap... and usually, the price reflects the quality :)

It was really really really windy on the Great Wall as you can see :)

A museum of Chineese history... I think.... It had a whole bunch of wax figures... they were kinda freaky... :)

I held hands with a monkey! The zoo!

Tienamen Square... I think... :) It was pretty cool... Windy there too :)

Haley and me! We went to the market place, got measured for skirts and those green tie things, and went and bought our adidas shoes... they are HOTT!! haha

These are my cousins.. Alysa is the one in the pink.. and I am sitting on Haley's lap.
Tienamen square... A lot of walking... so we traded Alysa for a while... :)

Getting measured at the clothing shop :) I have no idea what I was glaring at... or what Haley was lookin at with that look :)

The Great Wall of China! This was so fun! We only got to go on a small little bit of it thougth, because it is so big :) We rode a cable car up the mountain, and got to this place where there were a whole bunch of picnic tables and souveneirs and stuff. There were some really cool places inside that had like tunnels and things that you could crawl through and play in. You had to be very careful where you walked though, because some of the stones were a little bit loose or sticking out. It was really windy and cold too.. I had to take my dads extra long sleeved shirt to put over my wind breaker. It was a waay cool experience!

A whole bunch of flamingos!!

...Today was a good day! It was warm and sunny, which is my most favorite thing ever!! Something that would have made it better, would be no school!!! Which is in 7 DAYS!! SOOO EXCITING!! :D :D I'm kind of sad though, because I had to miss my soccer game... :( :( Oh well! :) So I know this is kinda random, but a few years ago, I went to china, and because I dont really have any interesting recent pictures of me.. I decided that I am going to post them! Soooo enjoy the following pictures! They are from March 2006, so we look a little bit different :)
